Information for referrers from mental health services
The referral process will slow down from 23rd November until our seasonal garden closure from 14th DECEMBER 2016 until 17th FEBRUARY 2017.
Referrals will be accepted over this period , but be aware it won’t be possible to visit the garden until 17th February.
Our Ecotherapy Programme is based on growing evidence that being active outdoors in nature helps improve mental wellbeing. Our programme has an outstanding track record, with at over 75% of our clients consistently reporting improved self-esteem, social connectedness and mental and physical wellbeing from their placement with us.
Our therapeutic gardening sessions are free of charge and aimed at mental health service users and those experiencing related mental health issues.
We are open every Wednesday and Friday from March to November. We offer two ecotherapy sessions each day we are open, running from 11:00-13:00 and 14:00-16:00 on both days. There is an option to bring a packed lunch and join us for a relaxed lunch hour between sessions. We can offer up to two regular sessions of therapeutic gardening per week to clients referred to us. Please read the 2016 Info Pack for Referrers for more information, and download a Referral Form if you would like to refer a client to our Ecotherapy Programme.
We are now actively recruiting so if you have a client or service user you think might benefit from our services, please don’t hesitate to contact us. We are now recruiting Ecotherapy Worker, therefore please contact Anna (interim cover ) at firstname.lastname@example.org or call: 07525 131 996.
