FFPG IS NOW RECRUITING HEAD GARDENER
At Forest Farm Peace Garden we are seeking an experienced gardener with a permaculture interest or experience to take the lead on our therapeutic gardening project.
Duties: The Head Gardener position is a fantastic position for an individual with a strong understanding of organic and sustainable methods of growing, interested in creating a beautiful, therapeutic space for our clients – mental health service users.
You will co-ordinate day-to-day activities in the Garden, including planning gardening tasks in consultation with staff and buddy volunteers and helping to run our twice-weekly sessions. You will lead on providing learning opportunities for our clients, managing the site and ensuring materials and tools are supplied. You will oversee the garden’s budget and planning for the year. You will also share responsibility with the Project Manager, Ecotherapy Worker and Trustees Board for longer-term management and development of the site. You will be a confident user of MS Office software, Internet and social media tools.

Details of employment: The post is for 14 hours a week (Wednesdays and Fridays). You will be required to work the occasional weekend day and there will be some evening meetings. You will be entitled to time off in lieu.
Salary: £21 249 per annum (£8500 pro rata)
Location: Forest Farm Peace Garden (FFPG), Hazelbrouck Gardens, Hainault, Ilford (site of the Garden). The job might include occasional office based work. Our office is located at 98-100 Ilford Lane, Ilford, Essex, IG1 2LD.

FFPG is now recruiting trustees
Our Trustee Board is responsible for the overall management and health of the organisation.
Board members undertake strategic planning for the organisation, overseeing finances and fundraising; policies and human resources, and are responsible for ensuring that the organisation is meeting its aims.
The Board meets as a group on a bi -monthly basis, with meetings generally in the evenings starting around 6:30 and lasting for 2 hours.
Please note that because FFPG is a charitable company limited by guarantee, Board members have limited liability. That means that our trustees are not individually financially liable for the organisation, provided that they have not been negligent about performing their duties. It is important, though, that the members of the board take all reasonable steps to ensure physical and mental safety of staff and volunteers, that they take reasonable steps to secure the financial health of the organisation, and that they take reasonable steps to prevent harm and ensure that we are compliant with the law.
